Complex Shape Generation

Lofted, swept and various orgnic shape geenration capabilities allow complete and unconstrained shape generation for aesthetic and aeroform design.  Complex, drafting, filleting and shell operations allow these to be further worked on for manufacturing.  Specific material/industry commands such as ribs, pockets, twist, etc.  allow further design intent to be captured.

While in the conceptual phase, consumer product designers need approval of their concepts by management. SolidWorks Animator™ and PhotoWorks™ can be employed to represent these concepts photo realistically as images or animations. For external clients and vendors, eDrawings™ can transport their 3D design and animations to others without the need for any special viewer software. With STL export and Print3D, models can become reality using a multitude of rapid prototyping technologies.

Once a concept is chosen, detailed engineering needs to occur without the loss of design intent. Many products fail because design intent gets lost between concept and implementation. SolidWorks offers the ability to capture design intent at the early stages of the design process without limiting creativity. Because of this, design features can then be modified and reiterated throughout the design process. Once the final concept becomes detailed, SolidWorks offers the engineer a complete set of tools to validate the product for manufacturability and required durability.
