Validation and Optimisation for Designers!

We invite you to send us your "real life" cases which you think that analysis could have benefitted or optimised your design. Or indeed if you have a tried and tested system, send us your cases and we can present the analysis and results to you to check the speed and accuracy of our analysis - All contributions will be rewarded.

We are running this event to highlight the accessibility, efficiency and accuracy of our validation software to bring FEA and CFD to the forefront, to give your company the competitive advantage in an ever increasingly competitive market.

Date: Wednesday 14 May 2008........This 2 hour session will provide an informative overview of SolidWorks 2008, one of the most popular CAD systems used in today’s engineering environment. In addition to commercial users, SolidWorks is being trained to students in universities and colleges ensuring these skill sets are available for commercial companies - SolidWorks is now present in over 75% of the top 20 UK Engineering Univerisities.

If you are using 2D CAD technology, simply manually drawing, or have some 3D capabilities, the demonstration will illustrate how quickly products can be defined and visualised with award winning ease of use.

Associated documentation such as drawings and Bill of Materials can then be created automatically. Other downstream benefits include Stress Analysis, Computer Aided Manufacture (CAM) and Rapid Prototyping. We will also be showing you examples of Renderings and Animations for visual/marketing purposes.

The event is Free of Charge with refreshments provided. There will be ample car parking.

Welcome to a 3D CAD open day with a difference!

Do you want to see how 3D CAD could model YOUR product?

You are invited to PDR at UWIC University on the 17th June to see YOUR product created and manipulated in 3D.

Following your registration for this event you will be invited to send in, via email or post your drawings. We will turn these in 3 dimensional models live in front of you and show you how 3D CAD can benefit your business. We will demonstrate the information & data you could be getting from your products before they are even manufactured.

This could include:

Stress Analysis - Is your design strong enough/ is it over engineered?
Bills of Materials/ cutting lists created automatically
Flat patterned sheet metal parts
Framework joints created automatically
Will my product look aesthetically pleasing?

Questions we can provide answers to:

Will my part fail in service?
Will any moving parts collide?
How do I reduce errors on drawings?
Is my design manufacturable?
Will I have problems with tollerance stack up?

Each company that registeres will get a minimum of 1 hour dedicated to showing them how 3D CAD could benefit their company. You will recieve a 3D model of your product that you can take back to prove what has been achieved during your session.
