Tips and Tricks 5
3D Sketches in SolidWorks are very useful ways of laying down some 3D entities, much quicker than doing several 2D sketches. However, since you have a 2D screen and a 2D input device (the good old mouse!), here are a few tips and tricks to make them as easy as possible, saving you lots of time and effort.
If you need to deal with PCB design data, commonly known as ECAD or Electronic CAD data, then CircuitWorks is the way to do it. Do you have your own customised toolbox parts? Do you need to assign your own part numbering scheme to toolbox parts in SolidWorks? See how to do this using the powerful and often under-utilised add in of SolidWorks Toolbox.
Want to show your BOM listed starting with item 1 at the bottom and work upwards? See how to do this in SolidWorks 2010 here. A FAQ of Solid Solutions Technical Support.
