About The Vacancy

Job Description	Design Engineer at Lifting Gear Products, Sheffield (A Europa Engineering Group Company) The successful candidate will work alongside our engineering manager and engineering sales team to help design, calculate and oversee the build of a wide variety of lifting and handling equipment. The role will involve: • Designing and calculating stresses of lifting and handling equipment • Estimating costs • Liaising with suppliers and purchasing materials • Visiting clients with sales engineers to help develop a solution • Following quality documentation procedures • Liaising with production to ensure delivery times are on schedule • Responsibility for technical delivery of designs, checking and approval of drawings - working together with our Engineering Manager
Experience Required	It will require: • An ability to problem solve, evaluate and optimise designs • 3D modelling and CAD experience in Solidworks including static simulation/FEA. This is essential. • An ability to work individually and as part of a collaborative team • Strong commercial awareness • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Driving Licence preferred We are looking for an enthusiastic person willing to learn in what will be a very hands-on role in a small but expanding department. Qualifications	Degree preferred Solidworks passport training (ideally including simulation) and at least 2 years practical experience in a commerical environment.
