About The Vacancy

Job Description	We have a requirement for a Mechanical Design Engineer to work with bespoke machinery for use in a number of industries including automotive and aerospace. Due to an ever increasing order book, we require a Mechanical Design Engineer to conduct the following duties: -Prepare drawings and bills of materials as required by the design team leader -Attend and contribute to design and contract review meetings when required -Ensure that the product is 'Designed for Assembly' such that it can be assembled in as simple & quick a manner as possible and without ambiguity -Investigate and determine solutions to service and warranty engineering issues and where appropriate incorporate known issues with current design work -Take responsibility and be aware of product cost throughout the design engineering process -To liaise with suppliers, sub-contractors and customers where required as part of the engineering design process. -To ensure acceptable levels of accuracy in all information transferred from Bills of Material to Drawings to Customer and Supplier communications. -To ensure and demonstrate Continuous Improvement in all aspects of product engineering and design as appropriate. To be considered for this role candidates will possess the following attributes:
Experience Required	-Practical engineering experience, preferably within equipment/ machinery design. -Experience of designing test equipment / mechanical structures. -Ability to work unsupervised and under own initiative. -Engineering background which supports speedy identification and issue resolution. -Be able to show a good level of Solidworks skills. -Strong documentation skills.
Qualifications	-HNC or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience. This position can be permanent or temporary.
Salary Range	£20,000 - £30,000 negotiable depending on skill set
