Top Tip from SOLIDWORKS Essentials training
Hi,

Another SOLIDWORKS Essentials course completed this week, great to meet our new customers and some new faces from existing customers.

Everyone progressed extremely well and found the training and extra SSM Surgery support extremely useful.

I just thought I would share with you one of the tips I show during Essentials training to all of my delegates learning SOLIDWORKS...

One of the common difficulties people can have when learning new software is where to find, or remember where on the toolbar they can find the "Icon", so from the 2012 SOLIDWORKS release a nice "search commands" tool was introduced:

You can use this by either selecting the tool in the top tight corner of the SOLIDWORKS interface or using the keyboard shortcut "W", it then allows you to enter a text string containing the name of the tool we wish to use and it will conveniently search all tools that contains the text you enter:

Once the command has been found in the list you have 3 options:

  1. Select and use the command
  2. Use the find option (spectacles icon) to show you where the command exists on your toolbar or menu interface:

This then takes your cursor to the command, whether its found on a standard toolbar or menu list so                next time you can use the direct route

         3.  Drag and drop the comand onto the toolbar provides a convenient way to customise your Toolbar                     Interface

Hopefully tips like these can only serve to help you become more proficient with the software and this is just one of many your SOLIDWORKS instructor can show you when you attend our Certified Training Courses

Best Regards
