Ever had to scrap work due to a miscommunication between the CAD office and the shop floor? In a fast-paced industry such as woodworking this sort of setback can be costly, resulting in lost time and potentially even lost business.
The Solid Solutions SWOOD Report allows you to avoid these issues by enabling users to generate detailed, customisable production reports from their SWOOD Design and SWOOD CAM projects. These reports streamline communication between design and manufacturing, ensuring efficiency on the shop floor.
Customisable Documentation
The SWOOD Report contains a variety of tables and detailed lists for each component of your designs, whether it’s frames, panels, or hardware. These lists are fully customisable using the SWOOD Editor, so you are in complete control of what data is communicated to the shop floor.
In addition, all values are driven directly from the CAD data created within SWOOD, meaning you can say goodbye to filling in a manual excel sheet to log important information about your designs. This also ensures that the data is always up to date and accurate, and removes the possibility of human error getting in the way.
Labelling Systems
As part of the documentation available in the SWOOD Report, labels can be defined within the SWOOD Editor to allow you to keep track of properties such as material, size, and quantity for each panel.
The data displayed in these labels is fully customisable, and, if supported by your CNC, these labels can be automatically applied to each panel using the labeller on your machine, saving you even more time to focus on the important work.
Control of Exports
The SWOOD Report button can do more than just generate the report document. With just one click, you can export all the files you require for manufacture in one go. The SWOOD report can be configured to export all the xmls required, excel design tables such a bill of materials, and even xml files for board offcuts in nesting which can then be reimported into your library for reuse. With the Solid Solutions professional report you can even automatically create and output your SOLIDWORKS drawings to PDF and have then automatically attached to the report file too.
Summary
The Solid Solutions SWOOD report offers a clean, streamlined way to share design data across teams. It’s a lightweight, easily distributable file that doesn’t require additional licenses making collaboration simple, efficient, and accessible for everyone in your organisation.
