Role: Design Engineer

Description

Key functions of the role include:
• Accurate interpretation of design specification and client drawings.
• Preparation of SOLIDWORKS 3D models, general layout, assembly and detail drawings in line with client’s requirements and design standards.

Your Experience / Skills

The candidate must:
• Be able to demonstrate excellent technical competence, ideally in steel fabrication.
• Possess demonstrable experience and a sound working knowledge of SOLIDWORKS 3D within a mechanical engineering ideally sheet metal and fabrication environment.
• Possess a solid understanding of manufacturing processes and assembly techniques in a bespoke manufacturing environment
• Positive contributor to the ongoing development of the product range
• Have good time management skills and high work ethics.
• Be focused , methodical with good analytical skills
• Be a strong communicator and team player
• Be self- motivated with the ability to work in a busy fast paced environment

Qualification:

The successful candidate will possess;
• CAD skills, particularly in the use of SOLIDWORKS
• Commercial Vehicle experience especially in relation to bodybuilding, trailer building and chassis engineering
• Capability to participate in the general operation of the department, including sourcing of specialist parts and liaising with vehicle manufacturers and the relevant transport authorities
