Description
We are looking for an experienced proactive Design Engineer to work with our Senior Design Engineer primarily to develop new products and improve existing products.
As a Design Engineer, your role will include:
• Working from a brief (which may only include limited information) to produce new or improved design ideas using SolidWorks
• Using a 3D printer to make working samples, sales samples and patterns
• Working closely with other members of the engineering team to develop production methods for new products or solve production issues with existing products
• Keeping an up-to-date record of drawing numbers and revisions on our database
• Creating and updating manufacturing instructions for new and existing products
• Working with new and existing suppliers to obtain quotes for parts
• Arranging or conducting product testing
• Use of MS Access, Excel, Outlook and Word, and PaintShop Pro to edit photos for explanatory purposes
You must be competent using SolidWorks to model curved parts and decorative styling; create part and assembly configurations; and prepare technical drawings.
