DESCRIPTION

This course, focused entirely on the 2D drawings aspect of the package, goes in depth into setting up drawing sheets, creating drawing views, applying dimension schemes and generating bills of materials.

For CAD managers we work through an example of creating, customising and reusing drawing border information to enable your drawing sheets to contain dynamic place holders to model information. Also learn how to reuse drawing data, manage references correctly and check your work against a baseline standard.

You are correct that the exercises are time for you to work through examples in your own time and to reinforce the content covered in the lesson case study. In many of the manuals, there are more exercises than you are expected to get through on the course as they can be useful resources to work through in your own time. As they are guided instructions, we find attendees see these as a valuable method of revisiting the content when back at work. I felt that on this occasion the 3 day Drawing training course was very intense & slightly fast paced. But I am determined to get up to speed through completing the excercises over the next month .

Drawing course carried out by Jon at the Leeds Office was well executed, very thorough with the trainer having great knowledge that he could pass on to all attendees. No hesitation in answering any questions and always willing to help. Would definitely recommend!

Trainer and Course information was great, however i feel the course could be streamlined and the exercises needed tweaking.

Initially we have had our original tutor ringing in sick so Alex called in to do the first day of the course, second and third day the lessons where given by Ben. both tutors shown commitment and good knowledge. Solid Solutions was excellent in providing backup tutors so that we wouldn't missed the course.

Spenser was a brilliant tutor for the course using alot of in industry examples and allowing us to bring in our own work to use as examples for the cours. he was also happy to advise and show solutions to other problems outside the domain of the course focus.

Really nice and pleasant and I can see that normally I would have given him five stars, however it felt like he could have done with going through the new structure of the course a bit more thoroughly. All of the other training courses I have done with Soidsolutions seemed to run a lot smoother and less read out of the book.

The trainer was easily distracted by an attendee of the course that brought in a work laptop that had a SOLIDWORKS issue. He spent a large amount of time trying uninstall and install software to solve the issue frather than concentrating on the SOLIDWORKS Course that the other 3 people had attended. The problem with this is that you are put in an awkward position of not wanting to cause a scene to ask for assistance.
Feedback Response: Hi Martin, Thank you for this feedback. I empathise with our instructor who was no doubt trying to help the attendee with the software issue on his own laptop. However, I can do nothing other than to agree with your comments - the classroom environment is for attendees to learn about the software and nothing else. No additional assistance offered to attendees should compromise the course for others. It is for this reason that we provide regularly maintained equipment for all of our training events and why we run a Customer Support service 5 days a week. I have dealt with SolidSolutions for some time now in my company, and every time I speak to a member of their staff or visit their training facility I am always impressed. All members of staff are freidnly and very willing to provide support and help wherever required.

Average, knowledgable trainer but not willing to wait when supplied laptop is not functioning correctly or stop and sort the problem out.
This led to 3 lessons not being followed as the course advises.

Problems with laptop;
mouse not functioning correctly- fortunately another attendee had a spare mouse that he lent me to continue.
Laptop crashed three times resulting in lost work.

Thank you for leaving this feedback. We perform Health Checks on all of our equipment every 2 months and our machines are on a 3 year retirement plan to prevent them getting too old or badly worn. If any issues occur with the software, our instructors are all capable of repairing them. However, your feedback has made me realise that if problems occur with our hardware then instructors may easily be caught out, without a readily available solution to offer. To try and overcome this I have this morning ordered a large batch of mice that will be available for the instructors to take as 'backup kit'. 

I am very sorry that you were unable to follow 3 lessons as intended because of these issues. Our Training Manager Julie will contact you directly to discuss what we can do to make up for your negative experience and hopefully, we can assist you with any content that you feel was missed.
