SolidWorks 2014 Launch Event Report

Each year our subscription customers are invited to attend one of our regional SOLIDWORKS "What's New" launch events. These sessions offer a unique opportunity for our customers to network with other customers, exhibitors, sponsors and our team. Hands on sessions allow our customers to experience the new version for themselves. Every year at the main launch event we invite a guest speaker to give a keynote speech. The Model Mania and Plastics Challenge were popular competitions this year. The challenge of modelling a part as quickly and accurately as possible proved to stimulate the competitive edge in many customers. The Plastics challenge of getting the fastest fill time for the mould depending on the injection location was an extremely close result. Keynote Speaker - Chris Boardman

Chris Boardman’s speech was a standout feature of the event, taking us on his journey from winning an Olympic gold medal through to his recent involvement in the GB Cycling Development team Boardman was a truly fascinating guest speaker.

Covering a variety of topics from the inclusion of CAD in Team GB’s London 2012 preparation through to audience participation prompting us to consider the true value of teamwork and the importance of clear communication it was evident the Olympian made quite the impression.
