SolidWorks 2015 Launch Event Report

Each year our subscription customers are invited to attend one of our regional SOLIDWORKS "What's New" launch events. These sessions offer a unique opportunity for our customers to network with other customers, exhibitors, sponsors and our team. Hands on sessions allow our customers to experience the new version for themselves. Every year at the main launch event we invite a guest speaker to give a keynote speech. Previous speakers have included Chris Boardman MBE, Sir Ranaulph Fiennes, Richard Noble OBE, Jeff Ray former SOLIDWORKS CEO and Bertrand Sicot, current CEO.

Keynote Speaker - Richard Seymour

Food for thought was the main substance of Richard Seymour’s well delivered and humorous speech, the bounds of creativity and technology explained by what can only be described as a forward thinking mind. Bold ideas such as an old typewriter being just a laptop that printed as you type and that floating hotels were a possibility we just hadn’t invented yet certainly held the floor tightly and provoked imminent shifts in perspective.

The key note in the speaker’s repertoire was the power of imagination and how to harness it from those who have the most, children.
