SOLIDWORKS 2017 Launch Event Report

SolidWorks 2017 is here and our regional launch events have been a huge success. Thank you to all who attended, we hope you enjoyed them as much as we did. These events offer a unique customers to network with other customers, exhibitors, sponsors and our team. Breakout sessions allow our customers to experience not only SOLIDWORKS 3D CAD but the other products in the solidworks portfolio.

Guest Speakers

Every year at the main launch event we invite a guest speaker to give a keynote speech. Previous speakers have included Clive Woodward, Richard Seymour, Chris Boardman MBE, Sir Ranaulph Fiennes, Richard Noble OBE, Jeff Ray former SolidWorks CEO and Bertrand Sicot, previous CEO of SOLIDWORKS.

Guest Speaker - Derek Redmond

Following the extraordinary achievement of Team GB at the Rio Olympics we were delighted to be joined by Derek Redmond, a Gold Medal Olympian with a truly inspirational story of overcoming adversity.

Derek spoke about his run up to the semi-final at the Barcelona Olympics which will be remembered as an eternally inspirational moment, as his father headed onto the track to help him cross the finishing line after a serious hamstring injury mid-race.

Guest Speaker - Gian Paolo Bassi

Gian Paolo Bassi spearheads the development of SOLIDWORKS future product and tech strategies.

Formerly vice president of research and development and a mechanical engineer by trade, Gian Paolo Bassi has a real passion for design and innovation which was the subject of his presentation at the launch in Warwickshire.
