SOLIDWORKS CAM Professional Agenda
will cover the more advanced features of SOLIDWORKS CAM Professional, adding on
from CAM Standard. It moves away from the basic milling and onto turning, as
well as milling in the context of an assembly. We will also cover 2.5D VoluMill™,
an efficient type of high speed roughing that reduces cycle times and increases
tool life. This course can also be taken by users of CAMWorks, should these
features be required in their use of the software.
L1 SOLIDWORKS CAM Configurations
lesson of the course will cover how to utilise SOLIDWORKS CAM configurations.
This refers to multiple configurations of a component being saved within one
part, meaning multiple programs can be stored in one part, not too dissimilar
from SOLIDWORKS configurations.
L2 High Speed Machining (VoluMill)
looks into the use of VoluMill and how it can be used in standard applications.
We will also look at the setup of tooling to ensure toolpaths are correctly
generated and determine other parameters to get the ideal toolpath.
L3 Assembly Machining
will reinforce some basic milling covered in CAM Standard, but this time in the
context of an assembly. We will cover how to swiftly program multiple instances
of the same part and also a single part mated into a vice or fixture.
L4 - 3 Plus 2 Machining
will cover how to use multiple setups to allow indexing of a 4th or
5th axis machine. We will look predominantly at defining rotary axis
within the model, and then posting programs and looking at how the output will
differ from a 3-axis program.
L5 Turning Basics
will cover the basics of creating turning programs. We will start with defining
geometries from scratch, both automatically and interactively, as well as
defining stock material, chucks and fixtures.
L6 Chucks, ID Features & Operations
will delve a bit deeper into the various methods of selecting geometry
available when turning, as well as splitting features up into internal diameter
and outer diameter. Also covered is creating a setup on the reverse side of a
turned component, not to be confused with a sub spindle change.
L7 Modifying Feature and Operation
lesson of the course will look at how we can edit existing turning features and
operations, both the geometry used for the toolpaths and cutting data within
the toolpath itself.
