CADLink

Two-way Link for ERP

GET A PRICE

What is CADLink?
Bidirectional link from CAD to ERP system
CADLink is an effective linking tool for SOLIDWORKS CAD & PDM which allows the engineer to push and pull information from the to an ERP system in real-time. This application helps to reduce discrepancies between your data and prevents the engineers needing to perform multiple data entry tasks.

Engineers are able to add, modify and view ERP engineering information through the CADlink interface such as the item master data, bill of material, routing data and effectivity dates.
Reduce Admin Works
CADLink streamlines the data entry into your existing ERP system, allowing your engineers to spend more time engineering rather than double or tripling data entries and eliminating a risk human error input.

CADLink can pull information from the CAD model and push it to your ERP system to create new items in the item master.
Reduce Errors
Using a bidirectional entry point, discrepancies due to typos or mistakes can be averted. Mistakes easily happen when entering data into multiple databases across multiple fields for every assembly.

Inconsistencies in the Bill of Materials can lead to ordering errors, scrap, excess inventory or late shipment costing your company time and money.
Increase Consistency
The simple to use interface, allows the user to replicate relevant drawing information such as the description and revision into your existing ERP system.

Ensuring accurate information is transferred across identically, reducing errors and prevent potential conflicting information between work orders, sales orders and drawings information.
Why Change?
Problems with a Manual or Push Method
Without a linking mechanism like CADLink you are are currently limited to a manual syncing process or a push operation to update your ERP system, both costing time and causing potential errors.

Issues with a Manual Method
Manually type all your Product and BOM details into ERP
  • Zero software cost
  • Error-prone
  • Time-consuming
  • Only ok for very small Engineering departments
Issues with a Push Method
Export in Excel, CSV, XML, etc… Then Import in ERP
  • Cheap and Cheerful
  • Often requires data massaging
  • No bi-directional connection
  • No data comparison or validation
  • Often reliant on a single person in IT

Do I need training to use CADLink?
CADLink is an easy to use system with some setup required to set your rules to accept values into your ERP system. Built into the SOLIDOWORKS interface for quick selection, the CADLink application will visual display fields that needs entering to link to your ERP system.
Is CADLink an ERP or PLM system?
No, CADLink is a tool that allows communication between your CAD data and ERP/PLM system. Creating a bidirectional link ensuring data is consistent.
Why would I not use SOLIDWORKS Manage?
SOLIDWORKS Manage is an advanced set of tools designed to build upon the functionality of SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional, with the ability to add information such as process and product management and more. The information created and stored in Manager could be useful in your ERP system, but it does not create a bidirectional connection.
