SOLIDWORKS 2020 LAUNCH EVENTS - Wrap up

October saw the beginning of our SOLIDWORKS 2020 Launch Events. Starting in Durham, we went to 16 different venues across the UK and Ireland. Over 1,500 customers from every sector and size, Start-Ups, SMEs to Tier 1 and 2 OEMs, saw the latest industry advances in CAD, Simulation, 3D printing and Manufacturing.

A big thank you to all the contributed to their success, from the Solid Solutions team, the exhibitors and venue staff, to all the customers that attended and our event sponsors, Dell and NVidia.

Dell SOLIDWORKS Workstation Giveaway (Platinum Sponsors)

The lucky winner this year was Daniel McLaughlin from Inspecvision, specialists in the design and manufacture of computer vision-based measurement systems for industrial applications. Regional Account Manager for Northern Ireland, Tim Kernohan, delivered the workstation to Daniel at Inspecvision’s headquarters in Newtownabbey, Belfast.

Model Mania Competition ( - Sponsored by 3dconnexion)

This year saw the return of Model Mania, an open competition run at each event, pitting attendees against each other to design a model in the quickest time. The criteria for winning was a balance of fastest time and accuracy of the completed design. Provided by sponsors 3DConnextion, victorious designers were awarded with a 3DConnexion Space Mouse.
