In your role as CAD Technician you will:
Report to the Project and Design Manager.
Coordinate and follow the instructions of the project specific Project Manager.
Meet with project estimator to understand the submitted tender price and identify the project risk.
Meet with the client and professional team to develop designs and methodologies to meet the specific project needs.
Report to the Project Manager areas of change throughout the process to facilitate programme and budgets change.
Undertake detailed site surveys of building and exhibition spaces including access and egress routes.
Produce drawing information release schedules understanding the resource requirements of the specific project.
Develop general arrangement plans and elevations from client and professional team information, detailing and specifying individual items suitable for client and professional team sign off and manufacturing requirements.
Produce manufacturing information including cut sheets.
Understand and facilitate information for CNC manufacturing processes.
Ensure the building or exhibition space meets the needs of the design.
Coordinate multiple specialist packages, including but not limited to, conservation grade display cases, audio visual hardware, electro mechanical interactives and interpretative graphics with joinery, metalwork, glass, plastics and specialist components and finishes.
Discuss with the production director best ways to manufacture specific parts of the project
Discuss with external suppliers and specialist sub-contractors best ways to manufacture specific elements.
Produce risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) in line with developed designs.
Issue drawings and supporting information to manufacturing, specialist sub-contractors and external suppliers for production, ensuring accurate information distribution sheets are maintained
Revise and maintain accurate drawings to reflect changes made during the off and on site construction phase for 'as built' records ensuring accurate information distribution sheets are maintained.
Attend site before, during and after project installation
Undertake post project reviews with internal and external personnel to ensure that good practice is captured as standard principles and details and distributed through the internal and external team.
Work with external CAD Technicians in coordinating major drawing packages.
