Description
The Project Design Engineer will carry out the design, development & specification of bespoke machinery and equipment used in critical & challenging applications. Due to the bespoke nature of the equipment, you will have a lot of flexibility wrt design intent, material selection and manufacturing techniques, albeit adhering to internal quality standards, customer requirements and ensuring conformity to various related standards. The role will require extensive communication with key stakeholders such as customers, sales, procurement, and the manufacturing team. You will be required to provide project updates and carry out regular design reviews internally and externally, visiting customer’s sites where necessary. You will be expected to support the manufacturing team during the assembly, commissioning & installation phase of a project as well as supporting sales by developing technical proposals.
Design, development, and specification of bespoke equipment related to pressure & flow, machine safety, product handling and system automation.
Careful selection of materials and manufacturing techniques to ensure correct fit, form, functionality, and value.
Ensure that design outputs conform to internal quality standards, customer requirements and industry directives & standards.
Output accurate CAD models, technical drawings in line with BS8888, Production BOM’s and other Technical Documentation for key stakeholders.
Chair regular project design reviews with key stakeholders.
Non-conformance and Engineering Change Management.
Providing engineering support for all departments.
