THE ROLE

A graduate design engineer will work with and support the inhouse design team. The successful candidate will have the following attributes:

• BSc / BEng in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design or Product Design Technology


• Assist with the design and development of new products


• Liaise and implement drawing updates from the workshop


• Learn, organise and update the PDM system


• Order parts from suppliers


• A keen interest in furniture design, ergonomics and aesthetics


• Learn the ability to work to schedules and budgets


• Be team-focused but also have a self-motivated attitude

SKILLS

• Be proficient using the 3D CAD software SolidWorks.


• Produce 2D/3D drawings for manufacture and assembly.


• Have a basic knowledge of precision sheet metal design, CNC machining in wood & metal, and 3D printing, technical writing skills


• Proficient in Microsoft office.
