Description
• SOLIDWORKS
o New product design - Accurately create and manipulate product design via SOLIDWORKS taking into account aesthetics, materials, ergonomics, size, cost, accreditations, safety, installation, process and environmental issues.
o Design components to aid production and any other asset required by the company
o Perform simulation analysis of parts and assemblies
o Produce technical drawings for both customers and external agencies for installation/manufacturing/fabrication
o Produce assembly instructions and BOMs
o Good Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Testing, reporting & auditing
o Lumen intensity and product strength test & reporting
o Failure analysis reports
o Working instructions (create and audit)
o Production non-conformities
o Prepare and maintain relevant test documentation
o Material evaluation (Resin, Epoxy, UV Glue, Plastics e.g. Polycarbonate)
• Equipment/maintenance
o Programme and frequent use of robots/machines (e.g. glue/resin dispensing robots, 3D printing, SMD, CNC, water chamber, humidity chamber, dust chamber & vibration bench)
o Analysis and recalibration of technical machinery ensuring minimal production downtime. Track equipment failure, raise non-conformities and suggest improvements to reduce possibility of issue reoccurring
o Provide input to guide selection of new equipment
• Customer & supplier relations o Liaise directly with customers regarding product feedback and new ideas. Direct communication with suppliers regarding improvements, redesigns, new products.
o Work together with all internal departments and support external agencies regarding research activities.
o Lead & communicate to production departments the manufacturing process of technical projects including any internal or external supporting documentation e.g. working instructions, and/or specialist tooling/equipment.
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
o Excellent literacy skills to effectively communicate with all nationalities via email
o Excellent verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with all nationalities on the phone
o Confident use of Word / Excel / Outlook
o Use of other software such as Solidworks Visualize, Solidworks Composer - Desirable
• Any other tasks deemed necessary .

Prior Education: GCSE A-C grade English and Maths an Engineering Qualification Desirable - BTEC/HNC/HND (Instrumentation, Computer Science, Robotics, Electronics, Mechanical)
Ideal software skills: Solidworks (CSWA/CSWP Certified - Desirable) & Microsoft Office (CNC/Injection molding experience advantageous)
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm Successful applicants are occasionally expected to work additional hours with no further remuneration.
Salary: £18,000 > £22,000
