To support the inception, planning and delivery of successful marine equipment products and projects. To provide competent technical solutions in line with client and other requirements and to work to Cost, Time and Quality specified in the budget.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for the following categories of work as directed:
• Defining functionalities and design requirements and ensuring the engineering meet the requirements set by international standards and appropriate authorities
• To carry out technical investigations and analyses to provide data for problem solving and design improvements.
• Writing operations and maintenance manuals and acceptance test procedures
• To understand the design, performance analysis setting to work and testing of hydraulic control systems
• Perform duties required by DRA, FMEA, HAZID, HAZOP processes
• Developing the purchase specification and assist in the selection and management of suppliers
• Overseeing assembly, installation and commissioning of Equipment
• Investigation and rectification of faults and defects including trouble-shooting, fault finding and “bug-fixing”
• To contribute to process improvement within the engineering/project team to deliver continuous improvements in quality, cycle time, asset and/or spares utilisation etc.
• Ensuring that your own work is in line with the schedule and deadlines for the task.
• To comply with Houlder BQMS and QHSE procedures and provide feedback for improvement.
The role should achieve the following objectives
• To work efficiently within the budget provided for the work.
• Development of quality designs which are well received by the client.


Purpose of Role/Job Summary:
To support the inception, planning and delivery of successful marine equipment products and projects. To provide competent technical solutions in line with client and other requirements and to work to Cost, Time and Quality specified in the budget.

Your Experience / Skills

• Experienced in a similar role possibly previously with an equipment manufacturer or in the marine sector such as Oil & Gas or the Merchant or Royal Navy.
• Proficient in knowledge of hydraulic systems and electrical systems i.e. invertor drive, motor and electronic control for design and fault finding activities
IT Skills
• Have a good level of computer literacy including Microsoft Office applications as Word, Excel etc
• Competent with Drafting Tools SOLIDWORKS and AutoCAD
Other Skills & Requirements
• Hold or willing to gain offshore working certificate and work offshore.
• Willing to work on site as required

Qualification:
• To be of graduate or Diploma calibre or equivalent experience in a relevant engineering discipline.

Salary Range:
£30,000-£35,000 gross pa plus benefits
