Solidworks – Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
Location – Manchester, Stockport
Our client is a global leader in advanced integrated terminal solutions and satellite RF electronics, with operations on three continents and extensive expertise in the world’s most in-demand satellite communications technologies.
Our client seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join its growing Stockport, UK team. This Mechanical Engineer researches, designs, and develops a variety of products and assemblies as well as collaborating with an engineering team in Krefeld, Germany.
Your Experience / Skills
Main Duties and Responsibility’s
•Development of precision mechanical components from concept to detailed design
•Procurement, assessment and approval of production tools and components
•Oversight of products and processes from pre-production to mass production
•Evaluation of products, components, or processes for cost efficiency and reliability
Person Specification
•Practical mechanical workshop competence
•Knowledge of manufacturing processes
•Experience of thermal simulation
•Material knowledge in the fields of plastics engineering, steel, non-ferrous metals
•Experience in carrying out FEA stress analysis, ideally using SolidWorks tools
Qualification:
•Degree in mechanical engineering or similar relevant discipline
•5 - 7 years in industry from a relevant engineering background
•Confident user of Solidworks
•Designing products of high volume manufacturing; experience designing components and products for microwave electronics applications highly desired.
•A track record of delivering innovative solutions to real world design problems.
Salary Range:
£45,000 - £55,000 Per Annum
