Role: Senior Mechanical CAD Technician

Description

To produce GA, detailed fabrication drawings and MTOs for mechanical and structural parts of Refrigerated Liquid Gas (RLG) storage tanks. To be in accordance with Engineers calculations and in compliance with international codes and company standards and procedures

Use 3D and 2D CAD to produce mechanical/structural engineering drawings for RLG tank design

To be able to work with minimum supervision and to ensure all drawings are accurate and efficient in design

To ensure construction/practicality issues are considered at all times

Peer check detail drawings produced internally and by third party

Assist with bids, scheduling and estimating design activities

Perform other tasks as assigned by the project lead or Technical Director

Contribute to improvements and standardization of our processes

Your Experience / Skills

Minimum 10 years’ experience

Understanding of engineering drawing symbols and construction techniques

Excellent knowledge of 3D and 2D CAD applications such as Solidworks, MicroStation and AutoCAD

Good numeracy skills

Good knowledge of detailing to European codes. Knowledge of national and international design codes and standards applicable to RLG storage tank industry, especially API 620, 650 and EN 14620 would be advantageous

Knowledge of steel fabrication applied to pressure vessels, storage tanks

Proficient with Microsoft Office

High self-motivation, self-organizational ability, team spirit, assertiveness and experienced in working in international teams and multi-disciplinary environment

Qualification:

Technician Certificate or higher (HNC) in mechanical or structural engineering

Salary Range:
£35,000- 40,000
