Key Areas of Responsibility:
• Ensures Health and Safety of the workplace has the highest consideration in all aspects of the job
• Oversees the mechanical design of the product, ensuring that internal and external customer requirements are realised and can be manufactured capably. Provides a technical interface with customers as appropriate
• Develop mechanical engineering aspects within Operations, including the conceptual and detailed design of production and ancillary equipment, to support the realisation of manufacturing targets
• Establish and maintain processes and procedures that deliver best engineering practice
• Effectively manage a small team to support fabrication operations and the efficient transfer of new products into production
• Monitors and improves mechanical product quality, feeding back into new developments
• Ensure an up-to-date knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques, actively promoting them within the business
