Lesson Agenda
Lesson 1: System Options - Upon successful completion of this lesson, you will be able to understand the architecture and structure of SOLIDWORKS Manage. We will also look at configuring the basic system options.

Lesson 2: Connecting to SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional - During lesson 2 users will connect to a SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional vault to import users and groups from the vault. Rules will be established for documents being promoted into SOLIDWORKS Manage and we will also load the SOLIDWORKS Manage add-in into SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional.

Lesson 3: Document and Record Object Types - Learn to create different object types including Record and Document and how to record references between groups.

Lesson 4: Fields and Field Groups - Lesson 4 will work through a case study introducing various types of Fields and demonstrate how to create Field Groups and set visibility.
Lesson 5: Users and Groups - Users will be imported from an active directory and assigned to groups with a look at how to assign permissions.

Lesson 6: Bill of Materials (BOM) Views - Upon successful completion of this lesson, you will be able to create multiple bills of materials and BOM Variants. A BOM will also be imported from Excel.

Lesson 7: Backup, Restore, and Upgrade - Lesson 7 will show users how to back up their environment and how to restore the environment should it be needed. A discussion around the upgrade process involved in upgrading Manage will also be covered.

Lesson 8: The Web Interface - Users will learn how to login and use the Web Client. The interface will be explored and as will creating records.

Prerequisites: Experience with the Windows ® operating system.

An understanding of SOLIDWORKS PDM. Prior attendance at the PDM Professional Training course is recommended.
