Description
Chameleon Colour Systems Ltd develops manufactures and markets paint colorant dispensing (tinting) and mixing equipment for the paint and coatings industry. This equipment, part of Point of Sale Paint Mixing Systems, allows paint stockists to offer customers their chosen paint colour.

THE ROLE (FUSION Project) - 16 Month Contract

€28000 starting salary – may increase based on candidate skills and experience

The project requires a junior engineer to work in a small technical team responsible for the development of an IOT based control controller system which will be integrated into Chameleon’s product range and provide a long-term hardware platform for the company in their mixing product line.
The key area of work is to support self-diagnostics of the hardware unit, remote debugging and the capability for the product to wirelessly inform Chameleon of diagnostic outcomes or events. In particular, development the capability for machine-to-machine communication.

Reporting to the Lead Engineer, you will be employed by Chameleon Colour Systems Ltd to lead this InterTradeIreland FUSION project in partnership with Ulster University. As part of this role you will be required to undertake a Postgraduate Diploma in Business & Management, from the William J. Clinton Leadership Institute at Queen’s University, Belfast. This is fully funded by InterTradeIreland. The skills learned through the Diploma will enhance your personal, professional and managerial capabilities and will provide you with the necessary and valuable business skills to help you undertake your project role. The company will fully support you throughout this by factoring in the required time off to attend modules and workshops.
Your Experience / Skills
Experience in the following for ELECTRONIC graduates:
• Experience in electronic production test, contract manufacturing, PCB layout and board assembly
• Strong understanding of electrical and electronic fundamentals, e.g. power supplies, microprocessors (ARM, x86), I/O chipsets, memories, communications.

OR

Experience of the following for MECHANICAL graduates:
• Experience in CAD Systems including SOLIDWORKS
• Familiar with Matlab, C++, Arduino and Fluent.

2. Legally permitted to work in the EU

Qualification:

Candidates must possess
1. Degree in the areas of Mechanical or Electronic/Electrical Engineering
