Description
The candidate will work as part of the Engineering design NPD team on new product development as the mechanical design and CAD 3d modelling lead. The candidate will be responsible for creating the project build pack including but not limited to, project build pack, process steps , drawings , cut sheets and developments, coordinated drawings for services including mechanical pipework , IT cabling , Fire suppression, cooling systems, structural designs.
The candidate will take a project management role and lead on design projects, they will also be responsible for CAD and design pack creation for "build to print" projects and customer supplier facing activities to assist the operations team in project delivery.
The candidate will take the lead as design engineer in design review meetings/workshops and quality assurance workshops and advise on DFM and process improvements.
The candidate will also take part in continuous improvement activities on a broader scale within the company as needed.
The Mechanical Design Engineer will report to the Engineering Manager and perform duties and report to operations managers and project managers on an ongoing basis. The role will require the following skills.
Primary Skills
-High proficiency in CAD 2D / 3D Solidworks is a must
-Ability to work in a project environment to deadlines is a must
-Customer facing environment experience is a must
Desirable Skills
-Technical working knowledge of HVAC systems desirable
-Technical working knowledge of Building management systems desirable
-Testing and Commissioning of mechanical systems/control systems desirable
