NONLINEAR ANALYSIS

OVERVIEW

When is Nonlinear Analysis Required?
Evaluating large/dynamic loads or nonlinear materials

SOLIDWORKS Simulation nonlinear stress analysis allows designers and engineers to validate product quality performance and safety throughout the design creation whilst efficiently testing designs under stresses and deformations.

SOLIDWORKS Simulation integrates seamlessly with the design process, allowing you to run nonlinear stress analysis directly from your SOLIDWORKS CAD model resulting in fewer costly prototypes, reduced rework and delays and greater time and cost efficiency.

Overview
Nonlinear stress analysis is able to determine and analyse the stresses and deformations of products under the most general loading and material conditions for:
  • Dynamic (time reliant) loads
  • Large component deformations
  • Nonlinear materials such as rubbers or metals beyond their yield point
Loads can be imported from a variety of studies including thermal, flow and motion in order to run multiphysics analysis.
When running a stress analysis component data is key, the SOLIDWORKS material database is prepopulated with materials ready for use within SOLIDWORKS Simulation and can be easily customised to meet any specific material requirements.
