SOLIDWORKS Technical Document - Redundancies in Motion Simulation

SOLIDWORKS Motion Analysis is a powerful tool for simulating the behaviour of moving mechanisms allowing users to understand velocities, accelerations, dynamic forces, bearing forces, energy, momentum, motor torque and motor power amongst others. However, some of these engineering parameters (namely those derived from forces) can be affected by redundancies in the mechanism. This document explains what redundancies are and how they should be treated.
