The SOLIDWORKS installation is either conducted via a download or a DVD. The process is helped along by the Installation Manager which allows you to control the installation and manager preferences. No matter which install method you use, you must be ready with your SOLIDWORKS Serial Number to enter during the early stages of the process, as this is checked to ensure entitlement of a product version and also the included functions you will have access to. To be best prepared for an installation, or an upgrade of SOLIDWORKS you should be logged into your system as a full Local Administrator to avoid any problems with permissions/ access.
Following the installation, you should reboot the machine and log back in under the same account as the install was conducted to complete the process. We have created some content to help prepare and conduct the installation for new users on our website.
