SOLIDWORKS PDM Standard is a data management software suite working within a Windows Explorer environment, it is included in all SOLIDWORKS Professional and Premium licenses from version 2016.

The course content is aimed at the system administrator, and will cover the capabilities of the PDM Standard system.

PREREQUISITES
  • Familiarity with the Windows operating system is required.
  • This course is aimed at the person(s) who will be managing/ administrating the PDM system within the organisation.

Mark Stephens gave a good presentation of the PDM system and knew most of the answers to our questions. I feel that the only thing missing was in-depth explanations of what certain command does and why we need to choose what we were told to do. It wasn't clearly explained what other choices in the system do and when to choose some of them.

Sameer Qureshi delivered an excellent & comprehensive course with lots of engagement & interactive elements, ensuring that all participants comprehended as much as they could in a context that made sense from their business' perspective.
He was fully versed in every aspect of the PDM software, its capabilities, applications & history and was able to answer any questions that arose.
The course felt evenly-paced with plenty of valuable content but not overwhelmingly complex - a particularly worthy achievement considering the intensely technical nature of PDM Administration.
The facilities were excellent and the complimentary lunches, snacks & drinks were most appreciated. The provision of EV charging points on site was an added convenience in my case.

A very well prepared course, easily explained, making it feel easier than you think it will be. lots of useful information and tips. well worth attending if using or think about using PDM as it give you a better understanding of how the vaults and workflows are set up to best suite your needs.

Trainer was relatively new to he subject (PDM standard), so knowledge was not at expert level but was able to defer to colleague for support. Otherwise, the presentation went very well.
I was disappointment that the other attendees failed to ask any questions (it was a virtual course), and it was only me who interacted. I think it would be good to encourage more discussion.

This was an online training course due to COVID-19 but the remote nature didn't really hinder anything. Steve Quinn was a great teacher. He has serious passion for file management and was able to answer all of our questions that we had, he was also able to put a 'real world' spin on the course explaining problems that he had encountered previously and how to overcome them.
It was a lot of information to take on board but Steve was patient and was happy to re-run sections of the course if we were unsure.

As expected course trainer demonstrated strong understanding and mastery of the product and good teaching skills. What can be improved on are the online demo which will make VCT a preferred option for training.

Really good course! Albie did a fantastic job of training it out. Very patient as lots of interuptions with questions, but kept the course on track. The Cambridge venue was really nice, food was excellent and coffee on tap! what more could you want :) only gripe was the training room had no blinds, so when the sun was out it was very difficult to see the screens and had to squint a lot which was a bit uncomfortable. All in all a great course with a great trainer, thank you Solid Solutions.

It's a particularly difficult course to teach as the structure of the SOLIDWORKS training manual is not in the best order for your learning experience so the instructor has a responsibility to try and guide the class through the content in the best possible way. You will have noticed that we had another member of staff sit in on the course to ensure that no key content was missed or delivered incorrectly, and although no critical content was missed feedback was to improve upon the structure of the course.
