Do I need to know 3D CAD to learn SOLIDWORKS Electrical?

Not necessarily. Our Step 1: Schematics course is focused purely on 2D logic and database management, which is ideal for electrical engineers who don't use 3D.

However, to progress to Step 2 (Electrical 3D), a basic understanding of SOLIDWORKS mechanical tools is recommended.

What is the difference between learning Schematic ‘Standard’ and ‘Professional’?

While the interface is similar, Professional training covers advanced automation tools like Excel integration, complex PLC configurations, and multi-user collaboration.

If your company uses the Professional version, we recommend the full 3D Electrical course to unlock its full potential.

Does the training include how to manage data with PDM?

Yes. In our advanced modules, we cover how to integrate your electrical projects with SOLIDWORKS PDM, ensuring your schematics and 3D designs are version-controlled and synchronized across your entire team.

Will this prepare me for the SOLIDWORKS Electrical Certification?

Absolutely. Our 3-step path is specifically aligned with the requirements for the CSWA-E (Certified SOLIDWORKS Associate – Electrical).
