Our online Skills Assessment tool allows users to test their SOLIDWORKS skills and understand where their knowledge could be improved. The testing levels are designed to challenge users’ knowledge of core principles at key stages of the learning path.

How to Get Started?

You will need to answer ‘hands-on’ modelling questions and multiple-choice written questions.

When prompted download the required files and get SOLIDWORKS ready.

Ideally you should make sure that before taking the test you are using a supported hardware setup and SOLIDWORKS 2020 or newer.

After each test, you will automatically be able to view feedback on the areas where you can improve.

You will receive your results immediately upon completion of the test. Our team is available to discuss the results of your team and provide advice.

This 210-minute assessment features more complicated questions that will really test users' understanding of part modelling, assemblies and drawings. There are a mix of modelling and written questions that are aimed at frequent users of SOLIDWORKS. Users that pass this test should be ready to take on the SOLIDWORKS Professional qualification exam

This assessment features questions on Mould Tools within SOLIDWORKS, and will test any users creating core and cavity models for tooling.

Sheet Metal

This assessment focuses on modelling with Sheet Metal, ensuring that users can create accurate flat patterns.

This assessment is designed to test anyone looking to create complex shapes and forms, using the Surfacing tools within SOLIDWORKS.

Weldments

This assessment focuses on 3D Sketches, Structural members and Structure systems to create fabricated structures.

The SOLIDWORKS Skills Assessment is an online tool that allows users to test their SOLIDWORKS knowledge and identify areas where they can improve.

How does the assessment work?

The entire assessment takes place online. Users launch the test directly from the website, complete a mix of hands‑on modelling and multiple‑choice questions, and receive results immediately after finishing.

Is the assessment free?

The Sample Test is free for all users. Full access to all tests requires an enhanced subscription and login.

Do I need a SOLIDWORKS subscription to take the assessment?

Anyone can access the Sample Test, while additional test levels require a SOLIDWORKS subscription or enhanced subscription login.

What do I need before beginning the test?

You’ll need to download the required files when prompted and ensure you have SOLIDWORKS 2020 or newer installed on a supported hardware setup.

Do I need to install anything to take the assessment?

No, there is nothing you will need to install provided you have access to SOLIDWORKS 2020 or newer. You will however have SOLIDWORKS Part, Assembly, Drawing files to download for some questions. 

Will I get feedback after completing the test?

Yes. After each test, you’ll automatically receive results. Our team at Solid Solutions can further discuss your results to provide feedback and highlight areas where your skills can be improved.

Does completing the test prepare me for any certifications?

Yes. Users who pass the Intermediate Test should be ready to take on the SOLIDWORKS Professional CSWP exam.
