Swiss Machining Features
Synchronise. Optimise. Maximise Productivity.
SolidCAM intuitive Channel Synchronisation Manager leads you through the correct sequence of operations, identifies potential clashes, and helps you avoid them. It is ideal for synchronizing and optimising all machining processes to achieve maximum production efficiency.
SolidCAM allows axis exchange within channels, and fully supports machining patterns and multiple cutting modes.

Superimposition
SolidCAM offers three different superimposition modes, allowing axes to be stacked onto other axes so the slave axis follows the movement of the master axis.
For supported Swiss CNC machines, this mode is automatically detected by SolidCAM.

Channel Synchronisation Clash Engine
The Channel Synchronisation clash avoidance feature blocks G-code generation or simulation if any conflict is detected. It highlights problem operations with clear arrows and helpful comments. The system understands controller logic and verifies synchronisation based on machine kinematics, shared axes, and wait mark rules.

Rotary Axes & Drive Unit Sharing
Reduce cycle time and improve machining stability by using the Shared Axes and Drive Unit features. You can synchronise two turning operations on separate turrets at the same time, sometimes even on the same spindle, and also synchronise two milling operations on different turrets using a shared rotary axis.
Swiss Machining can be complex, lots of moving tools, small parts and a need for maximal efficiency. Get started on your path to successful cutting with SolidCAM.
Frequently Asked Questions
SolidCAM is compatible with SOLIDWORKS versions up to two years older versions.
For example SolidCAM 2025 is compatible with SOLIDWORKS 2023 to SOLIDWORKS 2025. It is always advised to keep both your SolidCAM and SOLIDWORKS updated simultaneously.
SolidCAM licensing options effectively match the options we have available for SOLIDWORKS.
Licenses can be purchased as perpetual licenses in both Standalone and network formats. We also offer terms licenses for short term usage in the form of 12-month term licenses. Contact us for more information.
SolidCAM offer machining capabilities with modules which are scalable from low level machining up to an entire machine shop. This can start with 2.5D milling and turning and can be advanced to include 4/5 axis machining, mill-turn and advanced/swiss type turning. SolidCAM also boast other capabilities including Wire EDM to meet all of your manufacturing needs.
Here at Solid Solutions our highly Skilled engineers create bespoke Posts specific to your needs and requirements based on your CNC Machine. The role of the Post Processor is to translate toolpaths to G Code for specific CNC machines. Using GPPL language and the open source, customisable platform which SolidCAM utilises our Engineers can create bespoke Post Processors compatible with a wide range of machines and CNC Controllers.
SolidCAM’s integration with SOLIDWORKS ensures a seamless transition from Design to Manufacture. By working directly on the CAD model allows for continuous associativity between the CAD model and the CNC Machine helping to maximise your workflows and efficiencies.
Yes. Here at Solid Solutions, we offer comprehensive training courses across all modules of the SolidCAM Software. Through our in-depth training courses you will quickly be able to adopt the most efficient workflows and best practises to ensure you maximise the benefits SolidCAM can bring to your Business and your Design and Manufacturing processes.
