Course Overview
The goal of this course is to introduce SOLIDWORKS designers to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. By using 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS software, designers create, store, manage and collaborate with 3D models in a seamless cloud-based platform.
Everything a designer creates using the SOLIDWORKS Connected software can easily be saved to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform for team communication and collaboration.
The focus of this course is on the fundamental skills and concepts central to collaboration and teamwork during the design process.
NOTE: This course is available as part of the Silver, Gold & Platinum Training Passports.
What You'll Learn
Course Agenda
Lesson 1: Getting Started with the 3DEXPERIENCE platform
Lesson 1 will help all attendees successfully login to the 3DExperience platform and how to navigate the interface. Time will be spent using the 3DExperience User Assistance and the Welcome app.
Lesson 2: SOLIDWORKS Connected
During this lesson, attendees will open and edit a part using SOLIDWORKS, set cloud data storage preferences and then save this file to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. File properties will be reviewed, maturity states outlined and users will be shown how to search the platform for other shared files. Attendees will also experience adding a part to an assembly file and see how this can be saved to the platform along with drawings in the same process. The use of Bookmarks, for efficient folder-like file navigation, will also be introduced.
Lesson 3: Revising Parts
The focus of this lesson is to cover how revisions are managed within the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. Dashboards and revision schemes will be covered and files will transition through a revision scheme.

Other Training Courses
Smap3D Piping Training
In the Smap3D Piping Training course you will learn to create pipework from P&ID files, add equipment, and build routes with minimal effort.
API Fundamentals Training
This course begins by introducing the Macro Recorder before going on to look at programming system options, document properties and adding customer properties. Upon successful completion of this course, attendees will be able to program part, assembly and drawing automation.
SOLIDWORKS Drawings Training
SOLIDWORKS Drawings training is focused entirely on the 2D drawings aspect of the package, goes in depth into setting up drawing sheets, creating drawing views, applying dimension schemes and generating bills of materials.
CAMWorks 4 & 5 Axis Training
Building on the CAMWorks courses, we’ll introduce you to techniques used in simultaneous 5 axis machining.
CAMWorks 3 Axis Training
Build on the SOLIDWORKS CAM training course and delve deeper into 3-axis toolpath generation.
SOLIDWORKS Bespoke Training
Need something a little different? Our SOLIDWORKS bespoke training can build courses to suit the requirements of your teams and industry challenges.
SOLIDWORKS Mould Tooling Design Training
This SOLIDWORKS Mould Tooling Design training course will teach you how to quickly generate the core and cavity models directly from your SOLIDWORKS part file. The course also looks at techniques for dealing with imported data (typically encountered in mould design).
CAMWorks Mill-Turn Training
Learn how to setup and use features for a mill-turn setup and combine milling and turning within CAMWorks.
SOLIDWORKS Simulation Premium Non-Linear Training
The SOLIDWORKS Simulation Premium Non-Linear training course assess the non-linear behaviours associated with rubber, composites, and large displacements.
SOLIDWORKS Electrical Routing Training
This SOLIDWORKS Electrical Routing training course explores the process of building component libraries and create parts lists and wiring diagrams for assembly and manufacture.
